The Dairy Farm

Earlier this week we made our way to a semi-local Dairy Farm to see where milk comes from and try some RAW milk.

The Dairy farm had so much more to offer.

There were fresh calves there to pet and so many other animals too.  Take it from experience though you have to watch out for those calves!  They think everything is a source of food so -A- got slimed on the cheek while the other latched on to one of my fingers like there was no tomorrow and it did not care that it was not meant to produce milk, MILK was going to come out, just so long as it sucked long and hard enough, HA!  -N- was quite content to pet said calf as it was preoccupied trying to milk my finger and all.

My grandmother joined us for the trip and I was able to capture some magical moments with her Great grandchildren.

Happy Thanksgiving!

So as the holidays begin to role around I drop deep into the crafting world to figure what to make and this year I intend to have something homemade for each member of the family.  So I even have -B- in on the process with a list of projects for him to work on too.

This also means fewer pictures get taken and more time is spent being creative.  I aways have great plans to take pictures on Thanksgiving but some how the fun with family and all that yummy food tend to get in the way and I never even break the camera out of it's case, so unless we are with -B-'s family relaxing in IL we never have photographically documented proof of the day.

This year we were with my family and my parents made a decision to travel to Ohio to spend it with my younger brother.  We ended up heading over to my Aunt and Uncle's house with my grandmother to enjoy our good eats over there and boy oh boy were they YUMMY!

However, at the end of last week -N-'s school had their Thanksgiving festivities and I did remember to break out the camera for some candids there, so I'll share those instead...

Wearing one Authentic Native American Headress!

-N- shared his yummy cupcake, which -A- was very THANKFUL to enjoy too!

And this is Mrs. "B", -N-s wonderful teacher, whom we Love.

Happy Thanksgiving All!

An Introduction is in Order

So without further ado, we woud like to introduce the third baby G!  We are expecting, and this little one should be arriving at the beginning of next summer, due to arrive June 15th.

Quite a few of our family members, friends and well, just about anyone we have shared the good news with has decided that this little bundle of joy is going to be a Girl, but only time will tell.

Here is the little peanut's first snapshot...taken October 21, 2009, at 6 wks and 2 days gestation.

-N- is beyond words with excitement and has decided that he wold like to have one little brother and one little sister.  -A- is rather unaware at this point which works for now.

-B- and I are super excited and have decided that 3 is the magic number for us, so whether this one is a boy or girl does not matter, our family will be complete.

Pure Silliness~

These two boys have become quite the pair! I don't really stand a chance anymore as the conspiring has already begun! When one little mess is clean I am quickly taken right to the next. One of the most amazing sounds that comes from all of it has got to be the laughter though.

Seriously, how can I explain to -N- that he has to stop "fill in the blank" when -A- is belly laughing as he does "fill in the blank". Who cares if it could hurt or mame, really he'll only stop laughing to cry or stop breathing!

But there are pure moments of joy wrapped up in all the other moments when you find them like this...

in a state of PURE Silliness!

Happy Halloween...

This year was much like last year in the costume selection process...-N- knew what he wanted to be and -A- still doesn't care. So, much like the cowboy with his horse combo from last year, we had Buzz Light year
and Woody
this year.
If you could only begin to understand the excitement that surrounded this costume...he wore it every day this month that he listened well and took his nap without argument. Just because today is Halloween holds no bearing on whether it will be worn tomorrow or not. We started the afternoon by carving our pumpkins.
-N- helped his dad by directing him to use the shapes he has been learning about at school, a triangle, circle, square/diamond and a half circle.

As for -A-, I picked up a Mr. Potato Head style pumpkin kit last year after Halloween, so -A-'s pumpkin turned into a witch in no time,
and was later turned into a work like Picaso's, by his older brother.
We then went trick or treating around the neighborhood. After about 10 houses -N- declared that he would go to one more house and then he was done. -A- was cracking us up, as -N- didn't really understand this whole process on his second Halloween, but -A- was like an old pro and was walking away from each door with a piece of candy in hand ready to eat it.

Once we returned to the house, we packed up and went to my parent's house to show off costumes
and have dinner...Turkey Dinner. So delicious, a little different from the norm, but a new norm I could easily get used to!

Fall Program...

-N-'s class put on their first program of the year. They invite all of the parents, grandparents and anyone else who wants to come out to see the kids perform a few songs in honor of the current holiday. Today's was all about fall!

It was so fun and though -N- isn't visible the entire time, he was too cute and spent the entire ride home watching it on my camera in the car and singing along!

Are you trying to say somethng...

So today I asked -N- to clean up his kitchen...with which he replied, "Okay Mom let me just put all my dishes in the sink like you do."

What?

I think he is trying to say something, but my children would never attack my method of keeping our kitchen clean, so that {must} not be it...would it???

Bring on the pumpkins...

Once again upon us, is the beginning to the holiday festivities. We have been busy painting pumpkins with friends this week and had so much fun painting.

Before we could paint though we had to make a trip to the Pumpkin Patch of course.

It was an amazing Pumpkin Patch by local standards, keeping in mind that there aren't any actual pumpkin patches here.
This one did a great job of faking it, setting the pumpkins out in a field to picked through,

a hay maze, bounce houses, funnel cake, (yes I said funnel cake!) and ample opportunities for photo ops.
Let's just say the past two years I have had much to be desired after leaving the pumpkin "patches" but this year...I was satisfied!

We will be going back again next year! And hopefully -B- will be able to join in on the fun since the year he spent the day working.
