Happy Mother's Day...

Today -N-'s class put on a performance in honor of Mother's Day.

It is amazing to think that just a mere 5 years ago, Mother's Day was something I spent celebrating with my Mom...

...and now I am celebrating my fourth as a Mom, all because of this little man!

This was a cute little picture he made for the special occasion, it makes me giggle everytime I read it~!

Celebrating...

With -N- in school this year, it is always a guarantee that we will be celebrating the holidays with his friends at school.  Easter is no exception, since they follow a Christian calendar, there is no school tomorrow in observation of Good Friday.  So today we gathered for an Easter Egg hunt and the kiddos enjoyed some food catered in from Chik-Fil-A! YUMMY!

I think the most memorable part of today is
-N-'s ability to follow directions to a T, the came out and lined up on the wall and were asked to wait as she gave the instructions.  She would count to 3, and then they could go hunt for their eggs.  She then let us all prepare our cameras, began the countdown, and promptly upon arriving at the number 3, all the children took off running!  Well all that is except -N-, when I asked why he hadn't gone to hunt eggs he quickly exclaimed, "Mrs. "B" didn't say GO!"  So apparently just counting to 3 in his little mind doesn't mean Go!

Now I would like to say that I captured some adorable pictures of this as in transpired, but not a chance once he realized it was Go time, his fluid motion to find his 9, yes I said 9, eggs made it nearly impossible to get any action shots as he coincidentally managed to turn his back with every shot!  While he enjoyed the hunt, -A- was busy playing with G. Gram on the merry-go-round.

However, once a more captive subject sat feasting, I was able to capture a few cute shots of him with a couple of his friends -C- and -R-.

A couple of friends I hear about all the time.

The Gingerbread Man...

I have a mild obsession.  For years now, I have spent time collecting different versions of the age old tale about the Gingerbread Man {I may or MAY not have too many versions to count}.  When -N- began school this year I quickly signed up to be the room mom for the Christmas Party.

As a teacher I made Gingerbread houses each year with the children in my classroom, at our annual Gingerbread Workshop.  Once -N- was born I became a Stay at Home Mom and have continued the tradition with my Moms group hosting a Gingerbread workshop at our house.

So it was only natural to bring the joy of the Gingerbread Man to my oldest's classroom.  Each year, I enlist hubby and his amazing gingerbread house assembly skills, to make a ton of minitaure sized gingerbread houses made out of graham crackers and royal icing.  This year was a little trickier because it wasn't my classroom and the houses weren't staying at home, so the day before I went in and let the kids help assemble their gingerbread houses so we could decorate them the next day during the party.

It was a HUGE hit and the kids had a blast, expecially enjoying the yummy goodness as they decorated.

Happy Thanksgiving!

So as the holidays begin to role around I drop deep into the crafting world to figure what to make and this year I intend to have something homemade for each member of the family.  So I even have -B- in on the process with a list of projects for him to work on too.

This also means fewer pictures get taken and more time is spent being creative.  I aways have great plans to take pictures on Thanksgiving but some how the fun with family and all that yummy food tend to get in the way and I never even break the camera out of it's case, so unless we are with -B-'s family relaxing in IL we never have photographically documented proof of the day.

This year we were with my family and my parents made a decision to travel to Ohio to spend it with my younger brother.  We ended up heading over to my Aunt and Uncle's house with my grandmother to enjoy our good eats over there and boy oh boy were they YUMMY!

However, at the end of last week -N-'s school had their Thanksgiving festivities and I did remember to break out the camera for some candids there, so I'll share those instead...

Wearing one Authentic Native American Headress!

-N- shared his yummy cupcake, which -A- was very THANKFUL to enjoy too!

And this is Mrs. "B", -N-s wonderful teacher, whom we Love.

Happy Thanksgiving All!

Fall Program...

-N-'s class put on their first program of the year. They invite all of the parents, grandparents and anyone else who wants to come out to see the kids perform a few songs in honor of the current holiday. Today's was all about fall!

It was so fun and though -N- isn't visible the entire time, he was too cute and spent the entire ride home watching it on my camera in the car and singing along!
