Going All In...

Check it out, we have PROGRESS!

This little man was swimming when he was just 18 months old, however a couple of set backs, a wild imagination and a summer out of water put us back at square one.  Last summer, I got him to the point where he was comfortable being in the water again as long as he had a life vest on.  This year with little -J- making a debut, we signed him up for swimming lessons.  They lasted 2 weeks and since he could touch the bottom of the pool, his confidence SOARED!

Today I worked with him some more in building his confidence, I realize in the pics he is wearing his life vest, but I had him jumping in and getting to the side unaided and without that vest!  (Did I mention that he cannot touch the bottom? Cause he cannot, unless his head is completely submerged.)  Anywho, when it came to him showing off for others, I felt more comfortable if he wore the vest, especially since I was behind the camera.  (We don't need anymore set backs!)

I am so proud, and he is so excited that he can jump in all by himself!

Turning 2...

The celebration began on Friday with the trip to the baseball game, -A-'s favorite sport, well that and golf.

Then this morning he woke up and opened gifts that he has been receiving all week in the mail.

This is his new Cubs hat (his first really) and he Loves it!!!
Thank you Nini and Papa!

He collected some awesome Mickey Mouse and the Gang gifts, which were perfect with his love for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Goofy another of his favorites.

Thanks Aunt K, Uncle S, -R- & -Z-

His request for cake was a baseball cake, a Mickey Mouse cake and a Tow Mater cake...
Boy did I have my work cut out for me, this one was the first...
 I cheated, can you tell?

Later on that night we had Bar-B-Q wings for dinner with Grammy, Grandpa & G. Gram and he continued opening gifts, those musical cards are right up his alley.

Thank you Grammy & Grandpa!

He got a brand new pair of shoes and had to test them out, after he ran a couple of laps around the room, he had to stop and watch the "Cowboy Movie", which we found out later, Papa was watching at the same time.

Then back to opening gifts, oooh Handy Manny!

Thank you G. Gram!

And his brothers took care of all his car needs!

-N- helped out when -A- would allow it, which wasn't very often.

Then we finished the night off with Birthday cake! Yummy!

But we weren't quite done, there was still that Tow Mater Cake request that we needed to address...

We continued the celebration with my Aunt K, Uncle S and a bunch of cousins, we went for a swim, barbecued some more and had MORE cake.  So he got the Mater cakes too!

I cannot believe our little boy is 2 already!  He is in love with life and knows what he wants.  He can take down his big brother and loves to beat up his Dad, all for fun of course, well most of the time anyway.  He is in love with his little brother and admires his older brother.  Will play baseball whenever you let him and if he had it his way would never stop.  He cuddles and snuggles and makes us laugh daily.  Growing up in this house has made him quite the little wise guy and he fits perfectly into this family of 5!  And does he know how to PARTY or what?

Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Boy

and maybe next year you can blow out your own candles, but if not don't worry, -N- is always willing to help out!

Look Who's Smiling...

Smiling is infectious,

You can catch it like the flu.

Someone smiled at me today,

And I started smiling too.

Getting to Know You...

I think One of my favorite parts of being a parent repeatedly, is watching our children meet one another for the first time!

Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a Superhero. -Marc Brown

There's no other love like the love of a brother.

There's no other love like the love from a brother.
-Astrid Alauda

I sought my soul, but my soul I could not see. I sought my God, but my God eluded me. I sought my brother and I found all three. ~Author Unknown

As we grew up, my brothers acted like they didn't care,
but I always knew they looked out for me and were there!
