Up in the Air...

There was a local air show today and we decided to take the boys out to check things out.  The boys enjoyed themselves, and that includes -B-.

 They waited in lines...

ventured under the belly of several planes, -N-'s favorite part of the day,

and journeyed through helicopters and planes.
Then we walked around...

And what's an air show without a firetruck?!?

We even attempted a pic of the boys with me, a rare shot recently, and wouldn't you know -A- only wanted to be with his Dad, you know the one taking the picture!

{See}

This is -A-'s first experience and he LOVED it.  A mild understatement actually, when it was time to go he screamed at his Dad for putting him in the car before the plane was done flying, so we stood behind the car an watched as the A-10 finished it's run.

(this plane to be exact)

It was a little windy and I was alot pregnant, so after 2 hours we called it a day and headed home.  Can't wait to head back!

And it Rained...

Over the past couple of days we have had a bit of rain.  Today there wasn't any in sight, so the boy enjoyed some time outdoors, but that doesn't mean that a few puddles weren't lingering around.  Puddles which -A- tends to find gravitate to, and today he discovered what would happen if you stomped in them.

Mind you he wasn't alone, but -N- is not much for the dirt side of puddles, if it is just rain water though look out.

By the time he was finished, he was covered!  His pants were wet and covered in fresh muddy water, as were his boots, his legs, amazingly his socks inside his boots and his hands the only things he missed were the shirt and his head~!  He had a wonderful time playing and there was no sense in trying to stop him so the cool Mom that I am (breathes on nails and buffs them on shirt) I let him stomp to his {heart's} content.
After the puddle was all "Splashed" out he made his way to the dandelion puffs and for the record they...

look neat,

don't smell,

and TASTE horrible!
(All about hands on learning over here)

Once they finished playing, we they went directly into the house to take a Bath!

A Rough Week...

So with Easter behind us and a crazy weekend to go with it, this little guy has had a pretty bad stomach ache after a few too many grapes, for what feels like a week.  Today only shows just how tired his little body has been from all of it.  Today we just laid around in an attempt to give his body some much needed rest and at about 10 this morning he laid down on the floor to watch Finding Nemo and well...

passed OUT!

It Appears...

The pirates have been "pirated" and left on a desserted island, because Buzz and Woody have taken over!

And Sheriff Captain Woody is having quite the time, as you can see!

(this was the scene left on the end table after putting the boys to bed tonight, it made us giggle)

New Colors...

Can you guess what these darling little feet are up to?

Well there is nothing like a new box of crayons or markers in our little world.  The sharp point of crayon and the bright color of a marker, just amazing, okay so {maybe} that is my obsession

None the less, the boys received new "colors" for Easter and spent a good portion of this afternoon coloring in their new coloring books.

-N- enjoyed coloring in his bible coloring book and -A- had a blast coloring "Goopy" (a.k.a. Goofy).

{Sometimes} the little things in life are so much fun!

Happy Easter...

We went to the Easter vigil last night at church and made it almost all the way through this year before heading home. -N- was excited to hear Father tell the story he has been learning about for the past 11 days and enjoyed seeing each piece in his picture book bible.

When we returned home after church, we made a recipe that my sister-in-law shared with me years ago, for Resurrection cookies and upon putting them in the oven and "sealing" it shut we went to bed.

This Easter has been an exciting one, -N- is old enough to talk about the real meaning behind Easter and it has been so much fun teaching him and watching him learn.  I chose to use Resurrection Eggs this year as a tool for teaching.  Though -A- doesn't quite understand the meaning he was just as eager every morning after breakfast to open the next egg and listen to the story.

-N- would get out the egg and open it, we investigate what object was waiting inside and then read the gospel reading that accompanied that item.  As you open each egg it takes you on the journey from Palm Sunday through The Passion and on to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

-N- hated to hear what they did to Jesus and it made him sad that someone was pretending to be his friend.  The last day was by far the most fun, as on {Easter morning} he opened the egg to find it empty, just as they did the tomb, and -N- looked all around to make sure he didn't drop what was inside.

After we opened the egg we headed out to the kitchen to discover the baskets the Easter bunny left for the boys and along side them were the Toy Story toys that th boys gave up for lent.

-N-'s basket

-A-'s basket

Oh the fun we had watching the boys check out their loot, and the we checked on the cookies we made last night and enjoyed them with breakfast, to find they too were empty just like Jesus' tomb.

-N-'s favorite gift!

-A-'s favorite gift.

Once we were done we packed up and headed to my parent's house for Easter dinner and an egg hunt.

A favorite shot, since -J- is visible in this shot too!

The Easter bunny added a little flair this year and gave -N- a matching game along with his hunt, giving -A- plenty of time to find eggs too!

We had a great day and enjoyed celebrating the season, hope you had a Wonderful Easter too!

Celebrating...

With -N- in school this year, it is always a guarantee that we will be celebrating the holidays with his friends at school.  Easter is no exception, since they follow a Christian calendar, there is no school tomorrow in observation of Good Friday.  So today we gathered for an Easter Egg hunt and the kiddos enjoyed some food catered in from Chik-Fil-A! YUMMY!

I think the most memorable part of today is
-N-'s ability to follow directions to a T, the came out and lined up on the wall and were asked to wait as she gave the instructions.  She would count to 3, and then they could go hunt for their eggs.  She then let us all prepare our cameras, began the countdown, and promptly upon arriving at the number 3, all the children took off running!  Well all that is except -N-, when I asked why he hadn't gone to hunt eggs he quickly exclaimed, "Mrs. "B" didn't say GO!"  So apparently just counting to 3 in his little mind doesn't mean Go!

Now I would like to say that I captured some adorable pictures of this as in transpired, but not a chance once he realized it was Go time, his fluid motion to find his 9, yes I said 9, eggs made it nearly impossible to get any action shots as he coincidentally managed to turn his back with every shot!  While he enjoyed the hunt, -A- was busy playing with G. Gram on the merry-go-round.

However, once a more captive subject sat feasting, I was able to capture a few cute shots of him with a couple of his friends -C- and -R-.

A couple of friends I hear about all the time.
