A Motorcycle Ride...

Realistically speaking, I have a bit of a fear of motorcycles, a little rediculously actually, I will ride on a bicycle, a quad, a ranger, a golf cart, a gator, in any car, and on just about anything on wheels,
but when it comes to two wheels, an engine and nothing between me and the ground,
FORGET it!
And to think, at one point in my life, I desired to go bungee jumping and sky diving, now as a Mom, I am a complete sissy!

This however, is not a fear my husband has ever possessed, as a matter of fact, my only adventure on one was with him and though completely incapable of controlling the situation, I held onto my dear hubby (fiance` at the time) for dear life and made it out alive and unwounded!

When it comes to motorcycles, his preference is Enduros.  A friend of his recently enlisted -B-'s help in repairing his bike and what better way to test drive it, then to load it up and take it out to my parent's house to drive on 20 acres?

Upon arriving -N- immediately began discussing his ride on the dirt bike motorcycle, you know the one I thought to myself is NOT going to happen.

After hubby and I had a discussion about my self proclaimed overly protective view, I explained that this is one decision I would leave up to him.

I know that he has the best interest of our children in mind as well and let's face it, I trusted him with MY life, so he is the best suited to decide based on his comfort level, since he will have control of the throttle.

-N- was greatly enthused by the decision his Dad made, and was proud to take a very slow ride around the trails.

-A- though persuasive, will have to wait a few years to partake in this venture

and for the time being was happy to just sit on the "motor kaickle" with Grandpa.

To be honest, it wasn't as gut wrenching as I anticipated, but I am definitely glad that this is not ours and it is not a decision we will be revisiting anytime in the near future!

Strawberry Season Again...

It's that time again!  Last year G. Gram and the boys and I headed out to visit the strawberry patch and enjoyed ourselves so much, that we couldn't wait to go back again this year.  Last year once we arrived home, we had an unfortunate turn of events, in which a majority of the strawberries ended up on the floor directly in front of and on top of the cat litter box. Disgusting!
Washing them off was not gonna work!
So with the remaining untainted strawberries we settled for eating a few and making a fresh strawberry pie.

So this year we had bigger plans in mind...including DON'T Drop the Strawberries!

We picked..
and picked...
-A- picked and threw and enjoyed stomping through the rotten ones I removed along the way (thank goodness for yellow rubber boots, that's all I am saying)
Then we picked...
took a few breaks, not so close to the ground.

enjoyed the weather...
caught some candid shots and posed ones...
Then we headed home with {16 pounds} of hand picked fresh from the field, strawberries!!!

Once we arrived home we set to work with no casualties this year, aside from the few tasty treats.  We began the hard work of preparing Freezer Jam and have 15- 8 oz jars of the yummy goodness!
We also made a yummy fresh strawberry pie, two jars of strawberry syrup to indulge in when eating ice cream and pancakes.

And with the remaining pound and a half or so, we chopped them up, sprinkled them with sugar and ATE strawberries to our hearts content!

More Than One Way...

To get the cat out from under a chair.  -A- recently discovered that using the toy broom to "sweep" underneath something to get an object will get said object to come out from under what ever it is "stuck" under.

Case and point:

The cat is hiding under the chair from -A-, her favorite playmate, poor Asriel.

Now when the broom isn't available, concessions must be made and wouldn't the better option in this case be a pair of pliers.

Lucky for the cat, they didn't work quite as well as he thought they would.  That and Mom stopped this from going terribly off track.

Just Putting Our Feet In...

We went over to visit my family this weekend and while there we stopped by my Aunt and Uncle's house.  My cousin was in the backyard skimming the pool and the water was a warm 85 degrees.  Upon seeing her, -N- immediately asked if he could "just" put his feet in the water, after a little coercing, I agreed.  At which point, he took off his cowboy books and socks and sat on the edge sinking his feet into the water...

A few minutes into a little {soaking} -A- joined in on the fun.
It wasn't long after that, that this happened...

and this...

then -N-'s shirt came off...

-A- didn't have a dry spot on him by this point...
and we can't have fun in the pool without first pretending to swim on the step.

When it was time to go, they were both stripped down to undies/diapers, respectively and road home wrapped in towels.

I would say they had a GREAT time, wouldn't you?

Up in the Air...

There was a local air show today and we decided to take the boys out to check things out.  The boys enjoyed themselves, and that includes -B-.

 They waited in lines...

ventured under the belly of several planes, -N-'s favorite part of the day,

and journeyed through helicopters and planes.
Then we walked around...

And what's an air show without a firetruck?!?

We even attempted a pic of the boys with me, a rare shot recently, and wouldn't you know -A- only wanted to be with his Dad, you know the one taking the picture!

{See}

This is -A-'s first experience and he LOVED it.  A mild understatement actually, when it was time to go he screamed at his Dad for putting him in the car before the plane was done flying, so we stood behind the car an watched as the A-10 finished it's run.

(this plane to be exact)

It was a little windy and I was alot pregnant, so after 2 hours we called it a day and headed home.  Can't wait to head back!
